Clinical psychologist and mental health policy analyst

Dr. Darland joined Capella in 2001 as an adjunct instructor. He has served as a Director of Faculty Development, Faculty Chair for Health Care Administration and has been a core faculty member since 2007. Prior to joining Capella, he worked as a clinical psychologist in a variety of mental health settings, and was a mental health policy analyst for the Minnesota Department of Human Services.

"I simply try to find the potential in each learner and give them a glimpse of how close they are to reaching it. I am not concerned whether the learner remembers me personally or not; if they remember how I made them feel, I have done my job."
